How licensing works

Is Core really a one-time purchase?
Yes. Core is a perpetual license: buy it once and you own it, no subscription. It lifts the Free 10-file apply cap so you can rename and auto-fix entire folders, with the full reversible change log and CSV export.
What's the difference between Core and Pro?
Core is everything in the crash-safe rename workflow, uncapped, for DWG/DXF/PDF, owned outright. Pro adds the ongoing-value features: real-time folder watch, XREF-impact checks, folder reorganization, compliance audit-trail reports, AI-assisted rule and naming suggestions, and full file-type breadth spanning any extension, including RVT, IFC, STEP and DGN. Pro is a subscription because those features keep delivering value over the life of a live project. (Standard templates aren't a Pro feature — they ship on every tier, Free included.)
How many computers can I use my license on?
Two — a workstation and a laptop, say. Both Core and Pro work this way. Moving your license to a different machine is free and takes about a minute: deactivate it on the machine you're retiring and activate the new one. If the old machine is gone, lost, or reimaged, you can release its slot from the new machine by confirming a one-time code we email to your purchase address. What happens if my Pro subscription lapses?
You drop to Core, never to Free. Your perpetual Core capabilities keep working. You only lose the recurring Pro features (folder watch, XREF-impact checks, compliance reports, the extra file types) until you renew.
Why is Pro's first year $200 when it renews at $99?
Because the first year includes a perpetual Core license — the same $149 license you'd buy on its own — so you own the core workflow forever. If you ever cancel Pro you keep Core and never drop to Free. After year one, Pro renews at just $99/year for the ongoing-value features.
I already own Core — how do I add Pro?
Open CADKeeper, go to your license, and choose Upgrade to Pro. Because you already own Core, you pay just $99/year — not the $200 first-year bundle. Your Core license stays yours if you later cancel.
Do I need CAD software installed to use any of this?
No. CADKeeper reads file names and folder structure directly and never modifies the contents of your drawings: no AutoCAD, no Revit, no plugin.
